02What Truence is

The short version, before anything is connected.

What is Truence, in plain terms?

Truence confirms how much revenue your business actually earned by tracing orders through to the deposits that cleared your bank, rather than relying on platform-reported or modelled figures.

Is Truence an attribution platform?

No. Attribution models who deserves credit before the money settles. Truence prices every channel off the settlement itself, in real time, once the money has moved.

Does Truence replace my accounting software?

No. Truence verifies the revenue layer your accounting software reports on, so the books close on a figure that already reconciles.

03Connections and security

What you authorise, and what Truence can and cannot do with it.

How does Truence connect to my bank?

Through Plaid. You authorise the connection with your bank, choose which accounts are included, and Truence reads transaction data for reconciliation. Written security documentation is available on request at Sales@truence.com.

Does Truence post anything back into my systems?

No. Every integration is read-only. Truence reads source records and reports a reconciled figure; it never writes entries into a store, ledger or bank account.

Where can I read the data-handling terms?

The privacy policy sets out how data is handled, and specific written documentation can be requested at Sales@truence.com.

04What's supported today

The systems Truence already reads, stated plainly.

Which storefronts are supported?

Shopify and Amazon, with multichannel setups merged into a single view so one order is never counted twice.

Which processors and ad platforms can I connect?

Stripe, PayPal and Shopify Payments on the processing side, and Meta, Google and TikTok on the advertising side — with fees, refunds and payout timing accounted for throughout.

What if I don't see my platform listed?

Request it. New integrations are prioritised on founder demand, and the roadmap is shared openly.

05Putting it to work

What changes in the week after you connect.

How do I get started?

Connect your stores, processors, ad accounts and bank through the guided setup. Most stores see their first reconciled month the same day.

Can Truence help with cash forecasting?

Yes. Forecasts are built from verified, bank-confirmed revenue rather than gross or modelled figures, so the runway you plan against is the runway you have.

What about orders placed by AI shopping agents?

Agent-placed orders are verified against settlement in the same way as any other order. See the Agentic Commerce page for what exists today.

06Marketing performance and revenue verification

How to read platform numbers, ROAS, and customer acquisition cost.

How do I know if my ecommerce ads are actually profitable?

Compare platform-attributed revenue with break-even ROAS, contribution margin, refunds, disputes, payout deductions, and the amount that ultimately settled. Platform ROAS alone is not a complete profitability answer.

Why does Meta Ads revenue differ from Shopify sales?

Meta and Shopify answer different questions. Differences can result from attribution windows, view-through credit, privacy and modeling, time zones, duplicate channel credit, cancellations, refunds, fraud, and cross-device journeys.

Why don’t Shopify sales and payouts match bank deposits?

Processors batch orders into payouts and account for fees, refunds, disputes, reserves, and timing differences. Match the bank deposit to its payout, then review the transactions inside that payout.

What does true ROAS mean?

There is no single true ROAS unless the numerator, denominator, attribution method, adjustment rules, and time window are defined. Settlement-supported ROAS follows supported platform-attributed outcomes through orders, adjustments, payout, and bank settlement; it does not prove an ad caused the sale.

How do I calculate my real ecommerce customer acquisition cost?

Divide eligible acquisition spend for a defined period by qualifying new customers from the same cohort. State which expenses count, how a new customer is identified, how refunds and cancellations are handled, and how long the cohort matures. Truence applies defined adjustment, settlement, and maturity rules when presenting SCAC.
